Indigo Blue Beauty
Color: Black, Bi-Color
Similar to Indigo Apple, although this is a beefsteak. This is a relative of OSU Blue Fruit as well; however, this larger beefsteak is a result of a cross with Beauty King. The largest fruit weighing in at 8 ounces, this is a great coastal choice. High levels of anthocyanin (an antioxidant) give this variety its distinct black, almost blue, coloring. Not only good for you, the flavor is outstanding too! When fully ripe, these tomatoes are soft to the touch. Disease, crack, and sun-scald resistant. We trialed this for the first time in our 2016 garden, and found it to be an exciting new variety with excellent flavor. Plant has an indeterminate growth habit (needs a tall tomato cage). A good sub, if sold out, is Indigo Apple.
