Casey's Pure Yellow (M/L beefsteak tomato)
One of very few "true yellow" open-pollinated (i.e. "heirloom"), potato-leaf beefsteaks. Unlike many tomatoes that we call yellow, Casey's does not turn golden or orange. Incredibly juicy and sweet fruit can weigh up to two pounds, but it is more likely that yours will weigh out between 10 and 18 ounces. In 2007 Jeff Casey of Alberta, Canada discovered this variety in a patch of Green Giant seeds sent to him by Annie Neoh from California. Instead of staying green, one plant produced yellow fruit. This variety was first offered in the 2009 Seed Savers Yearbook. Plant has an indeterminate growth habit (needs a tall tomato cage). A good sub, if sold out, is Lemon Boy.
